Amsterdam-based film production company DOXY lays emphasis on producing films of all manifestations – from a homeless opera and the more ‘traditional’ documentary, to music film, movie and (drama) series. After documentaries on (top) athletes like Becoming Zlatan (Magnus & Fredrik Gertten) we’ve also broadened our playing field with sports related films. Last year slatefunding has been made available by the Netherlands Film Fund to DOXY for the artistic development of new films.
Team DOXY has been active in film production for years, making dozens of films, winning national- and international awards, taking part in competitions of A-festivals and scoring (cinema) hits. Titles include: Camino, a feature length selfie (Martin de Vries) and Erbarme Dich – Mattheus Passion Stories (Ramón Gieling), both receiving the Chrystal Film Award for box office success, and festival hits Stop Filming Us (Dutch Movies Matter Award 2020), by Joris Postema and Alice Cares (Sander Burger), nominated for Prix Europa (2017) and – among other- winner of Eureka Award (2015). Currently in (post)production are international co-productions like Here we move, here we groove (Sergej Kreso) and the movie Sisyphus at Work (Ramon Gieling).
Power of DOXY is the years of experience and the extensive network of the production team, under direction of producers Sylvia Baan (Felice…Felice, Johan Cruijff: En un momento dado) and Harmen Jalvingh (Bloody Mondays & Strawberry Pies and Parts of a family). Producer Janneke Doolaard is producing quality cinema and television since 2004, graduated from European Producers Network EAVE in 2014 and was delegated as Producer on the Move representing The Netherlands during Cannes International Film Festival in 2016. Sinds 2020 Janneke is member of the board of Netherlands Audiovisual Producers Alliance (NAPA).
